A day of meditation and invocation in honor of Guru Purnima
We will move between the deep well of silent practice and the reverent pulse of kirtan, drumming the earth and the stars alive.

In all Tantric and Buddhist lineages, Guru Purnima holds a great significance.

Guru Purnima is celebrated under the luminous gaze of the mid-summer full moon,
marking a sacred pause to honor the ancient lineage of Teachers, Buddhas, Mahasiddhas
who guide us back into the luminous clarity of our own presence.

Along with a tribute to human guides, it is an invitation to feel the quiet wisdom of our own awakened Buddha Nature,
pulsing in our own bodies.

It is an invitation to feel the living breathing Earth in our veins, and the eternal embrace of Shiva and Shakti throughout all of life.

Through this act of deep reverence, we allow the teachings of those who walked before us
to soften and fertilize the soil of our own unfolding liberation.

Can I Invite Others?

For this gathering, we invite you to extend the circle to one or two people with a sincere devotional or contemplative practice
— fellow dharma siblings whose groundedness and fervor would deepen the field.
Guru Purnima asks for those who can hold silence and song with equal devotion.

Please make sure that every individual submits a separate registration form.

Time & Location

Date: From July 25th at 1:30pm PDT to July 26th 11:30am PDT

  • Our meditation and song will weave deep into the night, gently concluding around 1:30am.  You are welcome to camp overnight - resting under the stars on this exquisite stretch of Earth - and awaken within the sanctuary of this beautiful, poetic landscape to meditation bells in the morning.

  • If resting overnight on the land is not possible for you, you are entirely welcome to head home earlier in the day; we only ask that you slip away softly to protect the ritual container of the night.

  • Actual date for Guru Purnima is July 28th. We will be celebrating during the weekend since the energies are strong a few days before and after.

Location: Tomales Bay, Marshall, CA

  • For thousands of years, the Coast Miwok people have stewarded and breathed in rhythm with this specific landscape, dwelling alongside the waters of what they have long called Tamal-Liwa.

  • Situated a gentle 70 to 90-minute journey north of the San Francisco Bay Area, we will gather by the quiet waters near the bay on a private ranch.

  • Exact address will be shared with only registered participants.

Things to Bring:

  • To sustain your body and practice, please bring whatever meals and snacks nourish you, alongside your meditation cushion and necessary camping gear.
